Hotelupwell.com – Bali has again been named one of the best tourist destinations in the world and this time received the title “The Best Island” in the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards

This award was received by the Director of Marketing Communications of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Yohanes De Brito Titus Haridjati at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, Wednesday (13/3/2024).Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Tourism Economic Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in his statement, Friday (15/3/2024) appreciated the award and considered this to show that Bali is still top of mind for tourists when traveling in Indonesia.

“The DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards is an award directly chosen by loyal readers of DestinAsian magazine and this is proof for the umpteenth time that Bali is a superior destination that must be visited by tourists,” said Sandiaga.

DestinAsian is an international travel magazine published for the first time since 2021, whose distribution and circulation reaches Asia Pacific countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia and others.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that Bali is indeed one of the favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia. Based on a study by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Bali has the aggregate capacity to contribute 50 percent of the target of 14.3 million foreign tourist visits to Indonesia.

“In aggregate (tourist visits) Bali contributes 50 percent (of the national target of foreign tourist visits). So around seven million,” he said.

To accelerate this achievement, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga will strive to increase accessibility to Bali, including by increasing international flights to Bali and presenting unique and attractive tour packages without causing overtourism. That way, quality and sustainable tourism can be maintained in Bali.

“It is necessary to increase the number of flights and add travel packages that better distribute tourists who are of better quality and stay longer in Bali so that the economic impact is felt more by the local community without being too burdensome and resulting in overtourism,” said Sandiaga.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga also hopes that this award will be able to inspire other tourist destinations in Indonesia to continue to improve themselves.

“With Bali frequently receiving awards, it is hoped that Bali can become a feeder for 5 DPSP (Super Priority Tourism Destinations) in Indonesia. This is an achievement that we should be grateful for. “We hope that in the future other destinations will develop in Indonesia besides Bali,” said Sandiaga.
