Based on monitoring at the location, the density of tourists starts from Cikembang Beach, Karang Haji, Cibangban, to Karanghawu. The majority of tourists come using motorbikes and private cars, and quite a few even use pick-up vehicles.
“We have predicted that tourists will increase again two weeks after Eid. “Therefore, coordination continues to be carried out to prevent undesirable things such as maritime accidents from occurring,” said Head of the Sukabumi Regency Tourism Office, Jujun Juaeni in Sukabumi, Sunday (21/4/2024).
According to Jujun, an increase in the number of tourists coming in the second week of the Idul Fitri 1445 H celebration has occurred since Saturday (20/4/2024). This can be seen from the large number of vehicles entering the south coast tourist attraction of Sukabumi Regency.
However, the number of tourists who came in the second week of Eid al-Fitr celebrations was not as many as in the first week. This time the number of tourists who came was approximately 5 thousand people or around 50 percent compared to the Eid holiday in the first week.
One of the local tourists from Sukabumi District/Regency, Angga Rahayu, said that he was only able to go on holiday to the beach this week. The reason is that during Eid, from the first day until D+7, he still received assignments from his office.
“Thank God we were able to have a holiday on the beach. At first we thought that the condition of the beach tourist attractions was not as crowded as in the first week, but when we arrived, almost all the tourist attractions in Cisolok District were full of visitors, like at Karanghawu Beach,” he said.
Likewise, tourists from Tangerang, Banten, when found at Cikembang Beach, Rendy Rahadian admitted that they chose to travel to the beach in Sukabumi Regency this week. This is because the first week seen on social media and news, the south coast of Sukabumi Regency during the Eid holiday was full of tourists in the first week.
However, his estimate was wrong, he thought that in the second week of the Eid holiday there would not be as many tourists as there were yesterday, but in reality almost all beach tourist attractions were packed with visitors. “It was difficult to park because it had been busy with visitors since morning, but finally I found a parking space at Cikembang Beach and I just found out that this beach is no less beautiful than similar tourist attractions in Sukabumi,” he said.
The coast guard officers at the location were busy monitoring tourists while giving advice not to swim or carry out activities in vulnerable locations. The density of tourists only reduced towards the afternoon or around 15.00 WIB, most of the vehicles headed outside the tourist attraction.
